Meeting the German Cinderella.

We went on a train to Hans and Elisabeth's house and we met some of our relatives. We feed the deers who live next door. They ate apples and acorns. We went to see a show at an old town, it was outside. The show was Cinderella. It was in German but I understood it because I had listened to it before. There were lots of people at the show. It was good, I had fun.

All of Opa's brothers and his family.

In the garden near the outdoor theatre.

Eating yummy ice cream at the theatre town.

Waiting for the theatre to start.

We stood on the stage.

When the wicked stepmother married Cinderella's father.

When Cinderella marriec the Prince.

We got a photo with 3 of the little girls who acted in the play.

Meeting Cinderella and the prince. The prince looked like King Henry V111 because he had a big tummy.

I threw stones on the Rhine River.

On our last day we ate a big breakfast of toast, cheese, meat and juice.

Saying goodbye to Hans and Elisabeth, whose house we stayed at.

We played with Hans's huge train set with 3 big trains.

Walking and walking to churches and playgrounds in Cologne.

We went on a train to Cologne. We saw a cathedral. I loved the design because it had heaps of big stained glass windows. The cathedral was huge. I lit a candle. When it was misty the cathedral looked amazing because you could only see a little bit of the points (spires) up the top. We went to a sculpture park. I saw a cool sculpture with glass and mirrors. We went for a big walk and found a playground with a flying fox, a big climbing frame and a big slide too. We walked on a bridge back across the river and it had heaps of locks. People that love each other put the locks on the bridge. They are called love locks. I enjoyed Cologne because it was a beautiful city.

It was really foggy in the morning.

Castles and old towns with Opa.

We went to see Opa's other brother who lives in the old family house where Opa grew up. Their names are Gerhard and Gabi. We went to a pool and I went down the water slide lots of times. At their house they have a big garden where there were heaps of little insects made out of metal. The creatures were all around the garden. We had lots of fun finding them. We had dinner at their house. Gabi cooked lots of yummy food.
We went to an old town. The old town was called Linz. We had a good time looking at the old buildings.
We climbed up a big mountain to see a castle. It was called Drachenfels, which means dragon mountain but we didn't see any dragons. We had an ice cream up the top.
We went to another castle called Berg Eltz. It was really big. It had heaps of armour from knights. The castle was built 800 years ago, before Australia was discovered. We saw some of their jewels and the swords and cannons they used. They had toilets where everything you did fell outside onto the ground!
On the waterslide at the pool in Bad Honnef.

At the base of the Drachenfels ( Dragon mountain).

Adding to some bottle top art we found.

The Drachenfels is the last mountain, you can see some of the castle ruins on top.

Wiesbaden train rides.

My family and I went to my Opa's brother's house. His name is Adolf and his wife is Karin. They took us on a small red train and it could go on roads. We went up the hill and looked at the fancy houses. Then we stopped at a church. It had gold points up the top. We walked up a hill and we found a playground. Then we went on a train down the hill. We were in the front. It works by water and a pulley system. Then we went into a little museum. Then we went back on the red train to our hotel.
The next day we drove along the Rhine river. We saw heaps of castles. There was even a castle called Castle Katz, but it wasn't our castle! We went on a car ferry to go across the river. I am having heaps of fun. I miss you.
